Engineering Firm Registration
It is an offence under Cap. 63 for any firm to practice engineering consulting in Tanzania without being registered with ERB. Firm registration ensures organisations offering engineering services meet the required standards.
Important Notice
It is illegal for any person or firm to practice engineering in Tanzania without ERB registration. Offenders are liable to prosecution and a fine upon conviction.
Requirements for Firm Registration
- At least one director must be a registered Consulting Engineer with ERB
- Certificate of Incorporation or Registration from BRELA
- Tax Identification Number (TIN) from TRA
- Business licence from the relevant Local Government Authority
- List of all professional engineering staff and their ERB registration numbers
- Completed Form C – Application for Firm Registration
- Memorandum and Articles of Association
- Evidence of adequate professional indemnity insurance
Annual Returns
All registered firms must submit annual returns to ERB by 31 January each year, including updated staff lists, project details, and evidence of CPD compliance.
