Report Writing Guidelines

ERB has published official Report Writing Guidelines for each engineering discipline. These are mandatory references for all registered engineers when preparing Professional Technical Reports (PTRs). They must be used alongside PTR Form 2.

Mandatory Use

All professional technical reports must comply with the relevant discipline guideline and use PTR Form 2. Reports must be signed, dated, and stamped with the engineer's ERB rubber stamp and registration number.

How to Prepare and Submit a PTR

Download the Relevant GuidelineGo to the and download the Report Writing Guideline for your engineering discipline. Read it thoroughly before starting.

Download PTR Form 2Download the official PTR Form 2 from ERB using the button above. This is the mandatory form structure for all professional technical reports.

Prepare the ReportComplete all sections of PTR Form 2 following the discipline guideline. Attach all supporting calculations, drawings, and test results.

Sign, Date & StampPersonally sign and date the report. Apply your official ERB rubber stamp bearing your registration number on every certifying page.

Submit via MISFor SEAP evaluation reports and other ERB-required submissions, upload the completed PTR via the MIS portal at registration.erb.go.tz.
